"Prayer is not merely an occasional impulse to which we respond when
we are in trouble: prayer is a life attitude."

Intuitively we know that prayer is an essential expression of our faith and life in Christ, yet most people admit that their prayer life dissipates under the constant pressure and demands of life.
This year, PORTICO is committed to helping you develop your personal prayer life by hosting the Starting Points Week of Prayer. Beginning on Monday, Jan 4 at 7:00 pm and continuing every evening {at the same time} through Friday, Jan 8, we invite you to join us in the Chapel for these prayer gatherings.
Each evening will feature a special prayer emphasis in conjunction with opportunities for personal and conversational prayer. Of particular interest will be our Wednesday evening prayer gathering, which will feature prayer for those in need of healing. We would also ask you to set aside a time of fasting and prayer on behalf of those who are in need of healing.
As Jesus finished praying in Luke 11, his disciples asked him, "Lord, teach us to pray..." It is our sincere desire that 2010 will be a year that sees our hearts consumed with the same passion.
Let's move forward in prayer, asking for His Kingdom to come and His will to be done!
